Following a decade-long career as a professional musician with which I was fortunate enough to travel the world, I returned home to Brisbane to follow my passion for healing and helping people through natural medicine. I have always had a passion for the inner workings of the human body, and I currently direct my focus to the ongoing study of human anatomy and biology and how these systems are influenced by acupuncture. While I am capable of treating a wide range of conditions with acupuncture, my passion is treating musculoskeletal injuries and painful conditions.
Pain is the body’s most valuable mechanisms for making us aware of imbalances in our lives. When our body is in pain or emotional turmoil it is trying to tell us something, and ignoring that pain or continuously numbing it with painkillers or antidepressants only leads us further away from the solution. I find this organic machine that we inhabit to be incredibly fascinating as it can provide us with more answers to solutions in our own lives than we give it credit for. I will never cease to be amazed by the human body and all of its facets.
As we move more into the modern age, there is now more than ever a necessity to draw on the knowledge of the past and incorporate it into today’s practices in order to obtain the best results for health and well being. Some members of the medical science community attempt to debunk acupuncture and avenues of natural medicine despite the volumes of scientific evidence, empirical proof and positive outcomes; yet many natural medicine practitioners have the same opinions of Western medical science despite all of the good it continues to do. Good health is not confined to the physical body alone, and one must also give time and attention to our emotional and spiritual bodies in order to truly experience optimum health within ourselves and our lives.
From my own life’s experience, I would not be alive today if not for medical science, yet for day-to-day maintenance, health and well being, I attribute this to acupuncture and exercise, self-enquiry and a healthy diet. All types of medicines have their place, and as long as you find a practitioner with your best interests at heart, you are in the right hands.
If the medicine is sound and the intention of the practitioner is pure, then healing will surely follow.
I thank you very much for taking the time to explore this website. If you have any questions that I may be able to answer, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will do my best to help.
