Having completed a Bachelor of Health Science majoring in acupuncture from Endeavour College of Natural Health in 2015, I graduated with distinction and was awarded the medal of academic excellence for highest achievement in acupuncture across Australia. I currently hold positions at Endeavour College as a contract tutor for higher education and alumni representative for the Course Advisory Committees for both the Acupuncture and Biosciences departments, as well as having been chosen as the focus for their 2017 – 18 Graduate Stories write up.

I have always had a passion for the inner workings of the human body, and I currently direct my focus to the ongoing study of human anatomy and biology and how these systems are influenced by acupuncture. While I am capable of treating a wide range of conditions with acupuncture, my passion is treating musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. I find this organic machine that we inhabit to be incredibly fascinating and can provide us with more answers to solutions in our own lives than we give it credit for.

Pain is also one of the body’s most valuable mechanisms for making us aware of imbalances in our lives. So while I may focus a great deal on the physical manifestation of pain, I also delve into the possibility that the origins of our certain pains may in fact lay in other, seemingly unrelated areas of our lives that we may not be aware of. As my aim is to determine and treat the root of the physical ailment, quite often these can be manifestations of other aspects of ourselves that may have an emotional origin. When our body is in pain or emotional turmoil it is trying to tell us something, and ignoring that pain or continuously numbing it with painkillers or antidepressants only leads us further away from the solution. I will never cease to be amazed by the human body and all of its facets.

Following a decade-long career as a professional musician with which I was fortunate enough to travel the world, I returned home to Brisbane to follow my passion for healing and helping people through natural medicine. With a long-standing history as a martial artist, I have also been both a practitioner and instructor of Chen Style Tai Qi under the tutelage of Sifu Tim Yuen of the World Chen Style Taijichuan Academy of Australia. Practising Tai Chi provided me with a strong balance of fitness and meditation through movement, and these components provided a strong foundation for my development as both an acupuncturist, and as a human being. My current fitness regime consists of a weekly schedule of functional exercise, weight training and calisthenics.

As well as having an understanding of Traditional Chinese Medicine, I have been a student of shamanic practices now for almost 15 years and I also practice energetic healing and dream interpretation. In June 2016 I culminated my knowledge of physical and spiritual practices into Yahrundana – The Sacred Healing Retreat. This was a spiritually focused weekend retreat with the purpose of assisting people to awaken to their full potential and become the very best version of themselves. It consisted of an intensive weekend program of music and exercise therapy, meditation, martial arts, performance and human connection.

As we move more into the modern age, there is now more than ever a necessity to draw on the knowledge of the past and incorporate it into today’s practices in order to obtain the best results for health and well being. Some members of the medical science community attempt to debunk acupuncture and avenues of natural medicine despite the volumes of scientific evidence, empirical proof and positive outcomes; yet many natural medicine practitioners have the same opinions of Western medical science despite all of the good it continues to do. Good health is not confined to the physical body alone, and one must also give time and attention to our emotional and spiritual bodies in order to truly experience optimum health within ourselves and our lives.

From my own life’s experience, I would not be alive today if not for medical science, yet for day-to-day maintenance, health and well being, I attribute this to acupuncture and exercise, self-enquiry and a healthy diet. All types of medicines have their place, and as long as you find a practitioner with your best interests at heart, you are in the right hands.

If the medicine is sound and the intention of the practitioner is pure, then healing will surely follow.

I thank you very much for taking the time to explore this website. If you have any questions that I may be able to answer, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will do my best to help.

When you choose me as your acupuncture practitioner, I bring to you my wealth of knowledge about the human body from both Eastern and Western perspectives, discipline, dedication and attention to detail required for your individual treatment and care, and the warmth and understanding that all humans should have for each other when they are helping someone else heal.

I very much look forward to meeting you and having the chance to help you on your journey.
